From the Desk of Mrs. Millard
Veterans Day is the day that we honor all who have served in the military. This simple explanation encompasses a large number of men and women who have decided that protecting us in times of conflict is what they are called to do. We often think of those who have given their lives in times of war, but we also need to remember the people who serve every day.
I have a bit of personal experience with this. My father and father-in-law both joined the military but long before I had an understanding of what that meant. It wasn’t until my daughter joined that I understood what it takes to make this decision and carry it out. While I have been lucky that she has not been deployed or had to face circumstances where she was in danger, there was always this fear that she would have to. That fear is my perspective, hers is that she would willing do what she needed to...not because she was told to, but because she knew that this was what she joined for.
To everyone who has served...THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!

Prayer from the Fourth Grade for Veterans Day
Dear Lord, Today we honor our veterans, worthy men and women who gave their best when they were called upon to serve and protect their country.
We pray that you will bless them, Lord, for their unselfish service in the continual struggle to preserve our freedom, our safety, and our country’s heritage, for all of us.
Bless them abundantly. We respect them, we thank them for the hardships they faced, we honor them, we are proud of them for the sacrifices they made, and we pray that you will watch over their many different contributions to America’s victories and bless them with peace and happiness over tyranny and oppression.
In Jesus’ name we pray – Amen.

Cookie Love
Hello CKS Families!
The Christ the King School Athletic and Wellness Association would like to invite you to sell cookie dough with us! Last year we decided to take this fundraiser on, in an effort to make up some of the lost revenue due to COVID, and it was such a great fundraiser that we have decided to keep doing it!
Vermont Cookie Love’s (VCL) frozen cookie dough is delicious, all natural, GMO-free, and is made with real Vermont butter, Belgian chocolate, and Madagascar vanilla – so good it practically sells itself (think Girl Scout cookies ☺)!
While this is not a mandatory CKS fundraiser, we are asking all families to participate if possible. The proceeds from this fundraiser will go to the CKS Athletic and Wellness Association to continue to provide support for our athletic teams as well as some new wellness initiatives to come soon. Please join us in this FUN-raiser!
Here’s how it will work:
Friday, 11/5 – Wednesday, 12/1: Reach out to local friends and families to ask them to buy a tub or two of VCL’s amazing frozen cookie dough! It is perfect for holiday baking and holiday gift giving! See the attached order form and cookie options.
Thursday, 12/2 – Friday, 12/3: Email a scanned image or picture of your order form to Marybeth Lennox-Levins @ marybethlennox@yahoo.com.
Thursday, 12/2 – Friday, 12/3: send in your physical order form (with full payment if possible) with your child to school that day. Checks made out to Christ the King School. Cash is fine too. Ms. Cahee will collect and compile.
Friday, 12/17: Pick up your delicious frozen VCL cookie dough from the CKS parking lot between 2pm-5pm (at school pick up!). Please don’t forget ☺.
Cookie Love® cookie dough is a frozen product, so please arrange for proper storage until you distribute it.
