Fabulous February Raffle
February 1 through February 29, during library hours, Glocester Manton Library
Take 29 chances on one raffle ticket! It is Leap Year! During the month of February, we will be drawing for cash each day of the month. Tickets are $10 each or three tickets for $25 and are now available for purchase. Cash prizes total $1,100. It is a great way to support the library!
Winter/Spring Story Time Programs - Spots still open in:
Toddler Time (ages 2 - 3 ½) with Miss Annie
Tuesdays at 11:30 a.m., Harmony Library and Fridays at 10:30 a.m., Glocester Manton Library
Join us for stories, songs, finger plays, songs, and social play to ready your toddler for preschool and beyond. This is a weekly event and ideally participants will attend each week.
Preschool and Kindergarten (3½ – 5) with Miss Kat
Wednesdays at 11 a.m., Glocester Manton Library and Thursdays at 11 a.m., Harmony Library
The preschool programs are designed to help your child develop skills that are fundamental building blocks for school readiness. Children will read stories, engage in movement/music activities, and do a craft. Children are encouraged to participate independently while caregivers remain in the library.
Mo Willems Storytime

Age Level: Ages 4-8
Join us at the Harmony Library to celebrate the birthday of the author Mo Willems, who writes about Elephant and Piggie! We will read some of his funniest and best stories, sing songs, and make a Mo Willems inspired craft!
Valentine Candy Crafts

Age Level: K-Grade 5
Make some fun candy crafts to celebrate Valentine’s Day! We will be using chocolate kisses, lollipops, sweethearts, and other yummy treats!

Join us at the Glocester Manton Library with Tinkergarten to learn about nature in winter! Miss Jen from Tinkergarten will read a story and conduct an awesome activity that will show us the wonders of winter and the animals we see during this season!
Paws to Read

Age Level: Independent Readers ages 5 and up
Do you want to brush up on your reading skills? Do you love dogs? Practice reading with a therapy dog who loves to listen to stories! Bring your favorite book or COME EARLY and choose a book from our library’s collection. Each registration will be for 15 minutes of reading.
DIY Shelter Animal Toys
Saturday, February 22, 11 a.m., Harmony Library
Age Level: Ages 8 and up
Visit the Harmony Library to make some DIY toys for shelter animals! You can each make one toy for a shelter cat and one toy for a shelter dog. Not only will animals enjoy them, you will enjoy making them! Spread some love and kindness to our furry friends. Note: Please feel free to bring your own t-shirt material for this craft.
T-Shirt Spray Paint

Age Level: Ages 8 and up
Join us at the Harmony Library to spray paint your own t-shirts. With fabric spray paint and funky stencils, you can create some awesome t-shirts!

Our cookbook selection for February is Dinner Pies: From Shepherd’s Pies and Pot Pies to Tarts, Turnovers, Quiches, Hand Pies, and More by Ken Haedrich. If you would like to join the Cookbook Club, register online at glocesterlibraries.org and then drop by the Harmony Library to pick up a copy of the book.

Fearless Art Club
Wednesday, February 12 and February 26, 2 p.m., Glocester Manton Library
This art club is guided by the likes and interests of its members. In the past, we have enjoyed graphite, charcoal, colored pencils, and watercolor. In February, we will continue to explore acrylic paint, color matching, and end with a still life painting. All supplies are provided.
Icelandic Travel and Culture Night

The tiny island nation of Iceland has become a tourist hotspot! Join us for an evening of travel tips, breathtaking photos, Icelandic treats, and cultural highlights from a native Icelander and traveler. Come with your questions!
Beaded Dragonfly Bobby Pin Craft
Tuesday, February 18, 5:30 p.m., Harmony LIbrary
Adults and teens (14+) will learn how to fashion an intricate beaded dragonfly using a large bobby pin as a base. Participants will have a choice of color scheme. This workshop will be taught by Rhode Island crafter, Carrie King.
Writers' Support Group

Begin your resolution to write a book by joining the Writers’ Support Group! Read and share your personal writing projects at this monthly meeting. This adult group is open to writers in all genres. Registration is not necessary.
Birds of Rhode Island
Monday, February 24, 6 p.m., Harmony Library
Mary Gannon, Wildlife Outreach Coordinator from the RI Department of Environmental Management, will give a presentation about the birds of Rhode Island. She will discuss the Breeding Bird Atlas Project, focusing on how particular bird populations have fluctuated from the 1980s to current days. The bald eagle, among other selected birds, is one of the positive examples of population growth in the Ocean State.

Do you enjoy crocheting but wish you had some company while you were working? Are you a total beginner who is looking to learn this craft? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then the Harmony Library Crochet Group is for you. Beginners are provided with crochet hooks and yarn scraps to practice. More experienced crocheters should bring their own materials.
