A Message from Mrs. Johnson
Hello Bryant families,
TOMORROW, AUGUST 14TH IS THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!!!!!! Awwww Yeah!
We are so happy and exicted to have our little bees back on campus. As a reminder, On the first day of school only, parents/guardians will be allowed on campus to walk their children to their classroom. Once the bell rings, parents/guardians will be asked to immediately exit the campus so we can begin the school day. The first day of school can be difficult for some of our younger students. You may see tears, they may scream, they may throw themselves to the ground, and they may even hold on to you as tight as they can. We are equipt and prepared to deal with all of these circumstances. It is important for parents/guardians to reassure their children that school is a safe place and to exit the campus. It will be tough for you as a parent but you have to do it. Our team will be on "deck" to comfort your little one. I will not call a parent unless a student is completely inconsolable.
We live in the Inland Empire and it gets very hot as you all know. This week, we are expecting very high heat. Please ensure your child is dressed in light, breathable fabrics and has plenty of water. We do have two water bottle filling stations on campus. The RUSD District nurse monitors the heat index for all RUSD schools. In the event the heat index reaches 100 degrees, the District nurse will instruct all sites regarding next steps. Next steps could include, but are not limited to: advising students to take frequent water breaks, encouraging students to stay in the shade, restricting equipment usage, restricting outdoor play.
Let's make this the best year ever! As always, thank you for being wonderful partners. Team Bryant appreciates your support.
Have a fantastic week!

Parking in the Community
The safety of our students and families is our first priority. DO NOT stop your car in the middle of the street and let your child to get out or stop to load children into the car. Although we plead with parents/guardians not to do this, it is a practice we observe every day. This practice is very unsafe. The extra five or 10 minutes it will take drop your children off or pick them up is worth their safety and the safety of all other Bryant community members. Lastly, please do not block cross walks when parking. Doing this impacts the ability of children to safely cross the street.
Drivers will be responsible for any parking tickets or moving voiolations that are issued by RPD or parking enforcement. This is not the responsibility of the school site or the school district. Thank you in advance for considering the safety of our students.
