How About Them Apples
We continued to explore the classroom and work on routines these past two weeks! When the transition bell rings, we are learning how to tap our legs and move on to the next location/activity. At circle time, we're following our visual schedule to sing hello to our friends, see who came to school, count the kids, make choices (e.g., jump on trampoline or bounce on ball), imitate actions to songs, and follow a variety of directions.
Other activities have included building with apple slices and toothpicks, using spray bottles to decorate apples, cutting out the letters on our name apples, using tongs to put apples on trees, and mixing glue, baking soda, and contact solution to make slime. During P.E., we explored a new playground; we rode the trucks and bikes around the blacktop and then went up the stairs and down the slides. We also sang Row, Row, Row Your Boat while rocking in a boat and played Stop/Go.
With our friends from Room 4, we played in our restaurant dramatic play area, traced our bodies on paper and drew on faces, did a four-part obstacle course, played pass the beanbag, and sang about big/small, categories, colors, and shapes. Ms. Gini read a fun interactive book called "The Monster at the End of This Book" and we turned the pages to find Grover at the end!
