Relay for Life

Thanks to everyone for their overwhelming support of our local Relay for Life Cupcake Wars. Although I do not have the official total, we estimate over $1,600. Impressive!

TLC Agenda

Please let your TLC rep know if you have any items to place on the agenda. Our next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 30. Our main agenda item will be reviewing the end-of-year checklist as we prepare to finalize another school year.

Read on if you teach Science or Social Studies...

The State Board of Education is asking for your help in evaluating the Georgia Performance Standards (GPS) in both Science and Social Studies.

We realize teachers understand the practical content and delivery of GPS. Science and Social Studies teachers will be able to review and provide recommendations for each Science and Social Studies GPS.

Teachers will be able to participate in the survey beginning on Thursday, April 16 through Monday, June 15, 2015.

Thank you for providing your input.

Survey links are provided below.

Social Studies:

Slow and Steady Wins the Race

Students will model and mirror the behaviors of their students.

Walk slower, talk slower/softer, and your kids will follow suit. Don't believe me? Try it.

Your tone of voice and your body language can greatly impact your students' behavior.

As we prepare for the final weeks of the school year, I would ask that you stop and reflect. Am I talking too fast? Is my voice too loud? Am I talking over students rather gaining their attention before speaking?

Slow and steady wins the race...
