Black History Month
Black History Month provides opportunities to reflect upon the many ways that Africans Americans have contributed to our society and to share them with our students. But it serves another important purpose: it helps us to grow in cultural awareness and responsiveness in our teaching, realizing quite possibly that our curriculum is missing vital voices, stories and perspectives. Black History Month focuses on having new conversations with colleagues and students including how to continue this work throughout the year.
