Staff Spotlight: Mrs. Lees
From Mrs. Lees-
I believe my role as an educator is to help my students grow as a learner and as a person. I became an educator because I love to help children feel safe, successful and loved. My goal for myself every year is to know each of my students strengths and needs. I want to highlight their unique strengths and help them overcome their weaknesses so they feel confident as a student and a person.
In my downtime I love spending time with my family. I also love all things sports related, especially baseball.
We love having Mrs. Lees on our Pioneer Campus! Thank you for all that you do!
Classroom Spotlight: Mrs. Blesse- 1st Grade Class
Pioneer Announcements:
Toolbox Next Week: We will focus on Apology & Forgiveness and being respectful. Check out this link to learn more about Toolbox.
Cold Weather: With the weather turning colder, we want to be outside getting fresh air as much as possible. Thank you for labeling their coats, hats, and gloves so we can easily return them to students. Please remember, students can only play in the snow if they have boots, snow pants, and coats. Thank you for helping us keep our kiddos safe and warm.
Bus or pick-up: Please let Mrs. Ashley and your child's teacher know by 1:00 pm if you need them to ride the bus or be picked up. This helps us have a smooth afternoon and ensure everyone arrives home safely!
QES Alder Happenings
QES Alder Principal's Corner
It was a cold and exciting holiday week! Thanks to those of you who came out to cheer for us at the downtown parade! We loved seeing you.
Mrs. Kroll's class visited Rugged Roots Farm today. It was chilly but they had a great time and loved seeing Farmer Kari.
We were treated to a top-notch show by the QJSHS band today. Our students learned about different instruments and had the opportunity to see that practice does pay off! They sounded great and played pop tunes and a few Disney standards to pique our interest.
The Book Fair is all set and students had a preview today. It will be open next week at lunchtime and after school.

All Californians now have access to free, online tutoring
Click here to start your free homework help session
Real-time free homework help is now available for California K-12 students through HelpNow, a program of the California State Library, by laptop, tablet, or phone from qualified tutors using state curriculum and standards.
The HelpNow pilot program currently offers help in Math and Language Arts, in English and Spanish, at any time of the day or night. Help for other core K-12 subjects is available between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. in English, Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, and Tagalog, with no age limit to who can take advantage of the resource.
Tutors can provide a virtual whiteboard, conduct live audio interactions with students, and work with learners on a wide range of concepts. Students are expected to work through the content and learn from the feedback. Tutors do not provide answers — they provide guidance and help.
All tutors have passed background checks and possess, at a minimum, a bachelor’s degree.
Anyone using a computer inside of California can benefit from the live “HelpNow” program.
Simply click on this link to get started with a live tutoring session now. The average wait time is 23 seconds.
