Dr. Matthew Putman, CEO, Nanotronics Imaging

Matthew Putman is the founder and CEO of Nanotronics Imaging.He is also a Professor and Researcher at Columbia University.Matthew holds 5 patents, and has published over 20 technical papers, and in 2002 he won the ACS Best Paper Award. In addition to Columbia, Matthew has lectured at The University of Paris, USC, University of Michigan, and The Technical University of Sao Paulo.

Matthew has also produced several plays and films, and is an accomplished composer. He is a founding member of the World Science Festival. He is on the Executive Board of the Montauk Observatory, and is an Artist in Residence for Imagine Science Films

Andrew Rettek, Patient Manager, MetaMed

Andrew Rettek is a Patient Manager at MetaMed. He works closely with doctors, researchers, and clients to ensure that the research being done precisely meets the clients' needs. He has worked with the Singularity Institute (now MIRI) for the past several years, helping to run the most successful Singularity Summits in SF and in NYC. He studied economics at Columbia University.

Dr. Georges Sylvestre

Dr. Sylvestre is a maternal-fetal medicine specialist at Weill Cornell Medical College. A graduate of McGill University, in Montreal, Dr. Sylvestre received his M.D. from the McGill University Faculty of Medicine. His post-doctoral training included a five-year residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency at McGill, and a Fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, in New York City. He joined the faculty of Weill Medical College of Cornell University in 2004.

Kimberly Blozie - Co-Host

Miss Blozie is a senior clinical research professional and entrepreneur. She was manager of clinical research at Columbia University’s Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center. Miss Blozie has a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry from the University of New Hampshire and a Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Management from Columbia University. She is currently working in business development at Nanotronics Imaging and is writing a science fiction trilogy.

Ranjan Kumar

Ranjan Kumar is a PhD Candidate in neuroscience at the University of Calgary, Canada. He is studying the role of adult dermal stem cells derived Schwann cells in peripheral and central nervous system repair. Before starting his PhD Ranjan worked at Dr Reddys Laboratories, India on atherosclerosis and his team discovered a molecule for treating atherosclerosis, which is now in phase 1 clinical trial. Ranjan did his MSc in neuroscience at Jiwaji University, India. He loves teaching and research is his passion. Ranjan's long term goal is to become an academic professor and make Canada a global leader in regenerative medicine.

Sarthak Sinha

Sarthak Sinha is a student at Henry Wise Wood High School in Calgary, Alberta. Sarthak has been working the past two years doing graduate-level research in Jeff Biernaskie’s Experimental Medicine and Stem Cell Biology lab, University of Calgary. He has represented Canada and contributed towards field of medicine in many an international competition.

Arjun Nair

Arjun Nair is a grade 11 student at Webber Academy in Calgary Alberta. Last year under the guidance of Dr. David Thomas Cramb at the University of Calgary he conducted research on improving the efficiency of a promising cancer therapy, utilizing gold nanoparticles and heat shock protein inhibitors. His research won the national Sanofi BioGENEius Challenge Canada. Arjun was also a part of Team Canada for the 2013 International Science and Engineering Fair, winning a third place award in the Medicine and Health category. These experiences have encouraged him to pursue medicine in the future.
