The Fence Post
The Official Newsletter of Sandbrock Ranch Elementary
Welcome to the 22-23 school year!
To our families of Sandbrock Ranch Elementary,
- Please view the button above for information and resources from our fabulous school counselor, Mrs. Applewhite!
- We have had amazing support from our Ranch HANDS. So far, we have had a 'dad a day' at SRE volunteering. If you are interested in joining Ranch HANDS, please sign up below.
- Breakfast doors open at 7:10 AM in the cafeteria. If your child arrives after 7:30 AM, they will be given a breakfast bar or muffin to eat. All kids are counted tardy if they arrive to school after 7:40 AM.
- If you arrive after 7:40 AM, please park & walk your child into school. All front and back doors will be locked.
- This Friday (August 19th) is STABLE REVEAL day for our students. Every student will have the opportunity to spin the wheel. We can't wait to see what Stable everyone belongs to! Your child's teacher will email you the Stable color they end up spinning.
- Every student will receive a color lanyard (their Stable color) and their lunch ID card on Friday. Students will start using these for their log in to Chromebook, buying lunch, checking out books, etc...
- We will use this same system to ensure kids get to their right spot for Celebrate Sandbrock and Stable Huddles. The color of your child's lanyard represents their Stable color.
- Celebrate Sandbrock and Stable Huddles will start Friday, August 26th!
- Starting next week, you will begin receiving a weekly teacher email and grade level newsletter from your child's teacher. In addition to my weekly Fence Post.
- Your child's teacher is your child's biggest cheerleader and is your point of contact for all school related questions!
The Fence Post is my main form of communication each week. It will be emailed via School Messenger (once school starts), can be found on Facebook or Twitter, or located in a link on the Sandbrock Ranch webpage. The Fence Post is full of information each week regarding activities going on at school, dates, links, etc...Please ensure you read the whole newsletter each week so you don't miss any important happenings at SRE!

ESD option for early release days.
Dear Families,
Denton ISD will provide engagement for students on the early release day, August 31, 2022, from 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm for elementary children. The Extended School Day program will coordinate with each campus to provide engaging activities for students while teachers are participating in Professional Learning Communities. In addition, Denton ISD transportation will be provided at both the early release time (12:00pm) and the regular release time (3:00 pm) for all eligible elementary bus students.
To assist in preparation for the early release engagement, we are asking parents to sign their student(s) up for this service. If your student is already enrolled and attending ESD, you do not need to sign up.
If you have any questions regarding this, please contact the Extended School Day office at 940-369-0080.
Participation in this opportunity will require completion of the form below. All forms must be submitted no later than August 29, 2022 to participate on August 31, 2022.
