Growing hearts and minds for a better today and tomorrow: every day, every way, every one.
Principal's Message
Dear families and caregivers,
This week was Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week. I am humbled by the dedication, resilience, love, strength and empathy our faculty and staff has towards our kids, families and each other. Hiawatha is truly a special place. A very special thank you to our amazing PTO for honoring our teachers and staff this week and throughout the month of May! This week faculty and staff were treated to Starbucks! Next week, it is lunch from Bliss Bee.
We appreciate the support and love!
Enjoy the weekend and sunnier weather!
Katherine

The 2021 Essex Rec Summer Specialty Camp and Swim brochure is available online now!
Visit www.essexrec.org for our full offering of Sports, Fitness, STEM, and Art camps, along with our swim lessons and season passes for both Maple Street and Sand Hill Pools! Brochures are being printed and will be delivered to all Essex residents in the next two weeks.
We're most excited to bring back some of our favorite summer specialty camps from years past like Tina Logan's Fun with Fiber Camp and Drawing and Painting Camp, or Bob Gurwicz's Rocketry Camp! We also have plenty of new offerings like Culinary Adventures with Railroad and Main owner Courtney Roman and our first ever Soccer Sparks offering for 9-12-year-olds!
We're pleased to share that beginning this year you will no longer need a physical pool pass in order to enter either community pool! Patrons with season passes will be able to access their pools by using any photo ID (ages 16+) or answering some simple personal questions (under 16). No more paying to reprint passes or scrambling to remember which pass belongs with each kid!
Registration is available online at www.essexrec.org, over the phone Mon-Fri, 8 am-4 pm at 878-1376, or in-person Mon-Fri, 10 am-2 pm at 75 Maple Street.
Thank you Hiawatha PTO for your tasty treats from Starbucks to all the Teachers and staff!
