Counselor Connection
September 2020
Dear Parents,
The 2020-2021 School Year is off to a great start! It has been so wonderful to see all of your students back at school!! I can't believe that we are already into the month of September - but here we are. September will bring a couple of activities for you to be aware of:
Student Advisory Elections will take place September 8-11. Please refer to your student's classroom procedures for this. Each class will host their own elections for student representative & alternate. The roles may look a little different from years past; but students representing their class will still have many opportunities for responsibility this year!
Lifeskill of the Month: Respect
Respect: seeing good in people and things (and treating them with care).
Respect is both a perspective and a practice. What does it mean to “see good” in people? Oftentimes this requires us to learn more about who they are, where they come from, and why they believe and act the way they do. Respect is about understanding people! Respect is also about action; how we speak to and treat one another (and ourselves) respectfully is a constant practice.
