COVID Guidelines- As of 1/28/2022

Here are the new COVID guidelines which start on Tuesday, January 18th. If these new guidelines affect your child, we will be in touch either by phone or by email. Please keep a close eye on your emails throughout this difficult time.

  • Monday, January 17th- No School- Martin Luther King, JR. Day
  • Friday, February 4th- ALL students on distance learning (asynchronous)- PD Day for Staff
  • Thursday, February 10th- HAPA Meeting 7 pm
  • Monday, February 21-25- February Vacation- No School

WELCOME Sarnya Kunchithapatham Pichaiyappa

We would like to give a warm welcome to Sarnya, who works with Family Services of Rhode Island. She will be helping us with counseling and meeting the needs of our kids socially and emotionally.

Testing Dates: WIDA and IReady

  • Monday, January 10-Friday, February 18th- WIDA testing for MLL students
  • Monday, January 10-Friday, January 28th- iReady Winter Benchmark ELA testing- All Grades
  • Monday, January 31st- Friday, February 18th- iReady Winter Benchmark Math- All Grades

Reminders:

  • Drop off time is between 8:15-8:30 in the morning. Students are considered tardy after 8:40.
  • Pick up time is between 3:15-3:30. Please make every effort to be on time, as we have many meetings that begin promptly at 3:35.
  • If you need to pick up your child earlier, please be sure to do so before 3:00. After 3:00, we ask that you wait until 3:15 and pick up at the back.

COME JOIN!!- The Hope Academy is developing a Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC)!!

The Committee is a parent group working together with the Director of Special Education, with the goal to learn and improve the education of children with disabilities at The Hope Academy. The SEAC’s mission is to convene four times a school year to address a variety of special education topics, participate in educational events, and network with one another. Parents to children who have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or a Section 504 Plan, must compose a majority of the board membership in accordance with R.I. regulation.
