Principal's Message
Dear OMS Families,
Chromebooks are important for students to be able to access their assignments and Google Classroom. Students should remember that chromebooks are fragile so they should take care of their devices. If a student intentionally causes damage to their chromebook, then they will receive consequences. Students should bring their fully charged school-issued chromebook to school everyday.
We have a limited number of loaner chromebooks each day. These are prioritized for student's whose chromebooks are being repaired. If your student's chromebook is in need of repair, they can bring it to the Learning Commons and we can reach out to our technology department to have someone take a look. If your student lost their chromebook, they can report it missing to the office and we can put a message to staff to be on the lookout for it.
Please note, the school chromebook is a school device. Students are not able to access certain websites because they are blocked on the school's WiFi. In school, teachers are able to monitor websites students are on through a Go Guardian software system. If a student takes their school chromebook home, then they may be able to access other websites (YouTube, Snapchat, etc.) depending on what your home network settings are. They will be able to access websites that are typically blocked in school if they are not blocked on your home network.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Crowley

Tana Bernard Shares About Launch Day
Tana Bernard, Project 351 Ambassador, represented OMS and Stoughton last weekend at the MA State House for Project 351's Launch Day. Read all about Tana's experience below!
"I'm writing to let you know how Launch Day was as the 2024 Project 351 Ambassador. The day started in Brockton when all the Ambassadors in the designated region were picked up by a bus and brought to the JFK Library in Boston.
In Boston, we were organized into groups with group leaders and we were introduced to notable political and influential people from Boston like Governor Maura Healey. We were given the overview of Ambassador roles and responsibilities and heard about previous projects and later inducted into Project 351. From there, we were split into groups and transported to Cradles to Crayons. At the service site, we organized clothing into various categories depending on size and condition. From there, the Ambassadors recapped the experience and looked forward to more opportunities. I was fortunate enough to be able to speak in front of the ambassadors about my experience at Cradles to Crayons and how it made me feel. Being able to help others with my service on launch day was an unforgettable and awesome experience.
After service, we were driven back to the JFK library to talk about our experience. Once again, I was able to speak in front of all my fellow ambassadors and express how happy I felt that we were able to help others. After talking, all of the alumni were congratulated and thanked for organizing the 2024 launch day.
As launch day came to an end, all the ambassadors gathered and got to know each other. Many of us talked about the experience of a lifetime being an ambassador and how thankful we were for the amazing people around us.
Launch Day was truly one of the best experiences ever. Meeting present and future leaders was inspiring and truly remarkable. I want to thank everyone who was involved for giving me this opportunity." -Tana Bernard, 2024 Project 351 Ambassador

Pictured below are Kaitlyn Mitchell and Savannah Isabelle. Kaitlyn ran the table on Wednesday night during the concert and Savannah was the main organizer of the fundraiser. Other NJHS students baked the items that were sold.
