March
Wisconsin Forward Exam
Our teachers will be exposing students to the online testing tools that they will use during the exam. As parents, you can also go the the Department of Public Instruction website to learn more about the test and testing tools. You can even take a practice test if you would like. The link below will take you there and feel free to explore!
When we begin testing, students will take a few sections a day as to not cause test fatigue on any given day. The following is the schedule that we will be using for student testing. Students will start their day with exams and then an altered daily schedule will be followed for the remainder of the day. It is crucial for students to get ample sleep the night before a test and eat a healthy breakfast the day of the test!

- April 2 & 3 - Math Testing
- April 9 - 8th Grade Science & Social Studies Testing

Review since last newsletter
Believe it or not, we already began preparing for the 2019-20 school year this past month with students registering and selecting their courses for next year. 8th graders were able to meet with the high school counselors at JLMS and our current 6th and 7th graders met with Mrs. Brady and Mr. Arendt to learn about their options for next year.
The school year is quickly moving along as we entered our 4th of 5 enrichment cycles during SOAR. In addition, the 6th graders entered into their 3rd trimester of the their STEM, Art, and Digital Communications 1 wheel. Because of this, the spring parent-teacher conferences are upon us this week. Parent-teacher conferences will be Thursday night from 4-7p.m. and Friday morning from 8-10a.m. The sign up process for the conferences was sent out by Mrs. Badura a few weeks ago. If you need assistance in signing up, please contact the main office.
The students earned a PBIS school-wide incentive day on February first for earning over 500 Falcon Feathers for responsibility. The students were able to select from a variety of activities on the 1/2 day morning and enjoy their reward for being responsible. I look forward to students continuing to increase their responsibility and applying it to their academics!
A shout out to Ms. Morgan and Ms. Satari for putting on the Makersfaire. It is always impressive to walk around and see the great things our students in the district can create and make interactive for others.
On Saturday, March 9 the Grafton Band Department put on a wonderful Music in Our Schools Concert at GHS. JLMS was highlighted by outstanding performances from our 6th grade band, 7th & 8th grade band, and the Falcon Ensemble. Thank you to Mr. Dimmer for providing our kids with this great opportunity to showcase their talents to our parents and community.
