KES Celebrates Week of Respect

During the week of October 4th, Kennedy School will be celebrating Week of Respect. Please help us celebrate by having all of our KES friends participate in our fun-filled spirit week. All students will also be participating in activities during the day as well.

Future Reminders

Fall conferences will take place Tuesday, October 19 thru Friday, October 22. Conferences will be held in person. We will operate on an early dismissal schedule on the 19th -22nd.

  • Please make sure all physicals, vaccinations, and doctor's orders for medication are updated submitted to the nurse asap for the 2021-22 school year.

  • Please have students bring an extra mask in their backpacks.

  • Please see the snack list below. If any changes are made, an updated list will be provided.

Socks: shoe size 9-1 and 12-6

Girls underwear: sizes 5-6 and 6-7

Boys underwear: sizes 5-6 and 6-7

Boys bottoms: sizes 8-10

Girls bottoms: sizes 8-10

Girls long sleeve shirts: 8-10

Please do not send in jeans

Covid Update

If your child is absent from school and the reason is health-related, please contact the school nurse at 973-584-3938 ext 3005 or email If you leave a voicemail, the nurse still may need to contact you to follow up. In order to keep everyone safe and stop the spread, please review the information below.

If AT LEAST ONE of the below symptoms is exhibited, please keep your child home and notify the school nurse for further instructions

  • cough

  • shortness of breath,

  • difficulty breathing

  • new onset of loss of smell/taste.

If TWO or More of the below symptoms are exhibited, please keep your child home and notify the school nurse for further instructions

  • fever

  • chills

  • rigors( shivers)

  • muscle aches

  • headache

  • sore throat

  • nausea or vomiting

  • diarrhea

  • fatigue

  • congestion

  • runny nose

If you have pending test results in the family please do not send your child to school.

Breakfast will be free this year for all students. As students enter the building, they can grab breakfast and bring it to their classroom if they choose. Students will eat in the classroom during their arrival period. Movement in the classroom will be limited while students are eating.

School Lunch

School lunch will be free for the 2021-22 School year. Beginning on September 8, 2021, snacks will be available for students to purchase in grades 1-4. Kindergarten snacks will begin in October. Please know that snacks are not included as a part of the free lunch. If you would like your child to purchase snacks, you can do the following:

1. Put money onto your child's My Schoolbucks Account

2. Send your child in with cash ( please put in an envelope with your child's full name, grade, and teacher.

3. Send your child in with a check ( Please make checks payable to Roxbury Township School District)

Kindergarten snacks will begin in October.

All students will be distanced in the cafeteria will only six students per table. Students will have assigned seats, and movement will be limited. We will continue to show a movie during lunch to minimize movement and/or loud talking while students are unmasked.
