Passion Electives
A Rite of Passage for 3rd-5th grade
Sneak Peak for 1st Graders in the 4th Marking Period!
Starting April 11th (and every Wednesday morning from 8:40-9:15 through the end of the school year), your child will have a chance to participate in the Passion Electives that the 3rd-5th graders participate in. Once they are in 3rd-5th grades, they will have the chance to choose which electives they would like to join each quarter of the school year. Be sure to ask your child how they enjoyed their preview. It might just spark a new hobby in someone!
Lego Robotics
Students will create robots that walk, talk, think, and do anything they can imagine with Lego Mindstorms. They will create Mindstorms EV3 and bring it to life using an easy, intuitive programing interface. Using the remote, students can take their EV3 on ready-made missions. Using the iPad app, students will be able to give it customized commands. The robot revolution has begun!

Boot Camp
Work hard, play hard! There is no better way to get your blood pumping in the morning than with a boot camp exercise class. Join Mrs. Lambert in the gym for work out stations to get you going!

Gardening
Turn digging in the dirt into a lifetime of love and respect for nature. There is a natural magnetic attraction between children and the earth, whether it's making mud or discovering a germinating seed emerge from the earth. Gardening with children, from toddlers to adolescents, opens new windows in a world dominated by technology.
Instructor: Mrs. ConstantinoCoding
Students will create programs with loops, events, and conditionals, and write algorithms for everyday tasks. They will translate their names into binary, investigate different problem solving techniques, and discuss societal impacts of computing. By the end of the elective, students will create interactive games or stories they can share.
