Consequences for Academic and Behavioral Issues:
Class disruptions, being disrespectful, cheating, and/or having a behavior or problem in class will be dealt with one of the following:
1st- student and teacher discussion of issues (possible lunch detention)
2nd- communication with student and parent
3rd- student will be sent to the office
Severe discipline offenses may result in an automatic office referral.
Academic Dishonesty
Academic dishonesty includes cheating or copying the work of another student, plagiarism, and unauthorized communication between students during an examination. The determination that a student has engaged in academic dishonesty will be based on the judgment of the classroom teacher or other supervising professional employee, taking into consideration written materials, observations, or information from students. A student found to have engaged in academic dishonesty will be subject to disciplinary penalties per the Student Code of Conduct, as well as academic penalties. Teachers who have reason to believe a student has engaged in cheating or academic dishonesty will assign a zero for the work in question.
To Be Successful...
Class rules:
1.) Arrive to class every day on time with all materials needed and ready to learn.
2.) Respect others, yourself, and your school. This means listen when others or the teacher is speaking. Take care of your things and school property.
3.) Do not cheat, plagiarism ends with both/all parties receiving a zero. The probability that you put word for word the exact same answer on a question as someone else is the same probability that I will win the lottery.
4.) Do not disrupt class by interrupting others, talking without permission, or any activity not related to what we are doing in class at that time. Ask yourself first: is it needed, is it necessary, is it what I am supposed to be doing?
It is expected that you will be respectful of yourself, of those around you, and of
school and personal property. You are expected to use your scheduled break times
(before and after classes, and lunch) to use the restroom. Passes are limited and
given at the discretion of the teacher.
