Silverdale Elementary
Weekly Update 3-5-23
Happy Sunday Silverdale Families,
This past week was a week full of celebrations and activities. Congratulations to Mrs. Parker who was selected as Silverdale's Teacher of the Year! We are so proud of all her efforts that make our school so great. She truly exemplifies the values of an amazing teacher and we know she will represent Silverdale well! We also want to congratulate 4th grader Jacob Harkless for his first place finish in our school spelling bee. Jacob will now go on to compete at the district level later this month. Our Students of the Month were recognized on Friday for exhibiting Habit 4, Think Win Win. A full list of those students can be found in our newsletter. This month we will focus on Habit 5 Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood.
Read Across America Week was a huge success. Thank you to all our guest readers who volunteered their time to come read to our students. Our students really enjoyed engaging in some fun read aloud stories. Our Seuss Night and 4th grade performance were also a hit! We hope all who came out had a great time.
Looking ahead, please note that this Friday, March 10th is a teacher workday and there is no school for students. Lastly, we are looking for some talented bakers to help us celebrate our teachers on Pi day (March 14th) by sending in a pie! Whether it's berry, lemon, chocolate, coconut or your specialty, please sign up using the link in the newsletter. Thank you for helping make our teachers feel appreciated!
Have a great evening!
