HELLO SNOWSHOE FAMILIES!

Our school year is off and running! Things are going well and we are dealing our best with the no bus situation. Everyone should know by now that Snowshoe will be without buses (except Special Education buses) on Mondays and Fridays for the foreseeable future.

PLC Mondays are also causing changes to our drop off and pick up schedule. Please see below for those very important times:

IMPORTANT DROP OFF AND PICK UP TIMES:

Monday drop off time: 10:05am

Tuesday through Friday drop off times: 9:05am

Monday and Friday pick up time: 3:20pm

Tuesday through Thursday pick up times: 3:45pm

We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to our families that are showing patience and following the direction of staff! We appreciate you!

MORNING DROP OFF PROCEDURES TUESDAY THROUGH THURSDAY!!!

On days that we have bus service and you are dropping your student off at school, please follow these student drop of procedures:

First you need to decide what drop off area is right for your family.

If your student(s) can open their own door and have their backpacks and supplies ready to go once you stop, then curbside drop off is an option for your students.

Curbside drop and go procedures:

*To ensure that traffic is not backing up onto Fairview Loop, vehicles are to line up at the curb on the right side of the parking lot.

*Once you stop at the sidewalk, students are to only exit cars from the right side directly next to the sidewalk and then walk to the front of the school.

*Please do not wait until your child is directly in front of the school as this will delay the process.

If your student(s) are unable to exit the vehicle by themselves or are unable to be prepared to get out when your vehicle stops at the curb, then park and walk is the option to use.

Park and Walk:

*Park in the parking lot

*Walk your student to the crosswalk

*Student may cross on their own or with you when the crossing guard signals that it is safe

THANK YOU FOR FOLLOWING THESE PROCEDURES!!

Hi Snowshoe Families,

I wanted to inform families that I will begin conducting routine health screenings for all new to district students, and the following grade levels: Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, and 5th. The exams are screenings for vision, hearing, dental, vital signs involving blood pressure and heart rate, and finally height and weight. If any concerns come up, I will send home a referral note with the important information regarding concerns seen and who you should see (ie your primary Physician, an Eye Doctor, or a Dentist).

If you have any concerns or questions, please feel free to contact me via phone at (907)352-9533 or send me an email at melissa.brauneis@matsuk12.us

You can also speak with the Principal Mr. Moore as well.

Lastly, please make sure, if your student is not feeling well, consider keeping them home. If they are not able to participate in class, due to illness symptoms, I will refer them home. If your student has had a fever greater than 100.0F, they should stay home for 24 hours without fever reducing medications until they can return. If they have a rash of unknown cause, please do not bring them to school until the rash is gone, or you have a medical note stating that they are not contagious. There are other illness symptoms to keep a student home, like pink eye concerns, and I am happy to speak with you in the morning to determine if your student should come to school or not.

Thank you for all that you do to help our school stay healthy!
