WHEN RIGHTS GO WRONG
By Caleb Perdue
LOST VOICES
The voices of women go unheard and abuse runs rampant within African customs and culture. The struggle for equal rights is a long and rough bout for personal freedoms and survival of women and the general improvement of Africa culturally.
Causes
African customs have been major causes in oppression against women, as it is a part of African culture to see women as nothing more than objects to be used up and discarded at will.
Effects
Many women within Africa have been prosecuted without right cause and punished for centuries under the unjust rule of more powerful men. This has brought not only physical trauma upon them, but psychological pain and emotional pain as well.
Solutions
Many activist groups have been created in response to the tragedy of gender inequality in Africa. These groups bring in donations to help African women gain rights through legal means.

CONCLUSION
These African women need our help to survive within the oppressive and masochistic society they live. The voices of these women are slowly being acknowledged and respected as the more urban parts of Africa are becoming more democratic, but the majority of the continent is still culturally behind. We must do our part to help these women earn the freedom they deserve.
About The Movement
