At this time last year, I don’t think anyone anticipated that words such as isolation and quarantine would become part of our daily lexicon. We have included some links below that you may find useful that explain the difference between the two, as well as some additional COVID-19 resources.

New Jersey Resources 2020-2021 Guide
The 2020-2021 New Jersey Resources Directory is a comprehensive resource guide identifying the various programs and services the Department of Human Services offers to New Jersey residents, caregivers, and advocates. In this guide, a family can find out more information on how to apply for food, income, and employment assistance, as well as health care and much more. A caregiver can get information on support programs and services to assist them in caring for their loved ones. And individuals with disabilities and their families can get information on various services that include in-home supports, vocational rehabilitation, and education.

Wellness Resources
Pause and Reset: Brief Stress Management and Mindfulness Techniques Group for Hightstown High School Students
Take a break in between your classes to practice self-care. Please join Tara Adams, MS LPC, Rutgers School-Based Counselor at HHS for a 30-minute mindfulness and stress management group!
The group is open to all interested students and offers you a place to learn and practice mindfulness and stress management techniques such as deep breathing, meditation, simple yoga poses, and other skills you can incorporate into your day/week.
You can simply watch, listen, and/or practice these stress-relieving techniques at your own pace and comfort level. There is no obligation to participate weekly but regular attendance is encouraged in order to learn the skills and techniques thoroughly.
The group will meet weekly for 6-8 weeks.
Each weekly group focuses on different mindfulness practices and stress management skills such as :
Basic of Various Breathing Techniques
Progressive Muscle Relaxation
Guided Imagery Meditation
Simple Yoga Poses
Mindfulness through the engagement of senses
Journaling
CBT strategies for stress reduction

Additional Resources
For those in need of clothing, please contact The Mountain Shop, which is operated by the Rubino Academy, located in Ewing. Shoes, pants, coats, etc. are available between the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., every other Wednesday of the month. There is a 5 item limit per family. If you would like to check inventory or to make an appointment, please contact Ms. Robinson at 609-882-3200.
