Reopening Schroeder Edition
09/04/2020
Greetings Warrior Families,
I find this to be a very exciting time of year. However, I also understand we all may be a little anxious to return for any number of reasons. My suggestion to anyone is to set aside some time and read or reread the WCSD Return to School Handbook. Along with all the other documents included in this newsletter. Ask questions. Hopefully, that will alleviate some anxiety.
Basically, we are following all set guidelines by NYS and our local Monroe County Department of Health. We are ready!
Try these tips for a less hectic start to this school year:
- Have morning routine planned (breakfast, shower, clothes, MASK, Chromebook, lunch plan...).
- Check IC parent portal for schedule of classes.
- Goto PikMyKid and complete the daily screening.
- Wear an approved mask.
- Goto 1st period.
- Have a question in school? Ask a Link Crew member (yellow shirt) or an adult.
- Embrace the excitement of seeing and being with other students.
- Understand...it may not be perfect.
- Wear your mask and wash your hands and distance 6 feet.
Looking forward to starting school. We are ready!

Phys Ed Classes
PE is a great opportunity to engage in healthy activities and learn about a variety of movement experiences. Physical Ed. classes will look a little different this year and here are a few items that will be of interest to you:
- Locker rooms will be closed until further notice. Students with PE on a given day are asked to come to school in clothing that they can move in and PLEASE wear sneakers. (Bathrooms will be available if students need to change on an individual basis)
- We will take advantage of our outdoor spaces and opportunities. Please be aware that this may include going outside in less-than-ideal weather. Please Dress accordingly.
- Physical distancing is essential and will be expected during activities. We will instruct students to sanitize and/or wash their hands prior to and after use of any equipment.
- Any equipment used will be sanitized in between uses.
- This is an opportunity to increase knowledge of fitness concepts, individualized programs & activities and wellness concepts for social, emotional and affective learning. Please come with an open mind and ready to move!
EMCC Student Program Start Date
Our calendar has recently been updated and approved by the Monroe One Board of Education.
The first day for students is now September 14, 2020.
PikMyKid Registration
As of 09/03/2020, you can now register in the PikMyKid app, or on the website!
Don’t forget, the PikMyKid Support Team is always available to help you when you have a question. You can contact them at support@pikmykid.com.
Next Thursday, September 10th, we will begin using PikMyKid. We will use this system if you need to mark your child absent (no need to call the absence phone number) and to complete the daily health screening required for students to attend school!
Transportation Information on IC Portal
If you need help accessing the parent portal, please email ICportal@webstercsd.org
If you selected to provide transportation for your child this year, and now need to use bus transportation, please complete this online opt-In form.
If you need to change due to daycare or an alternate location for drop off or pick up, you can complete the Transportation form found on the transportation website.
School Lunch Information
News from the Athletics Office
We are appreciative that the Governor's office has given the green light for sports to start on Sept 21. Now our State organization, Section, League and School District will review all pertinent information to make a decision about how to proceed. We know people are passionate about athletics, but we are asking for more patience, while we work through it for student-athletes. More information to follow.
We will update our social media, websites and coaches communications as soon as we have more information. Stay tuned!
Student Driving/Parking on Campus
Our Security Department will be arranging a parking pass pick up day in early September. Further information to follow. Please email emily_zicari@webstercsd.org if you have questions.

Welcome Back, One Webster!
It’s a new school year, undoubtedly like none other that we have ever started together! But, together, we are returning to school and are thankful to our faculty, staff, and all of our families who have made this return a possibility. In whatever way your child is experiencing school this year, please know that your board of education is here to support all of our families. Above, you will note the PTSA/board of education school liaison assignments for the year and all board of education members’ emails. Please feel free to email your liaison with any questions or feedback throughout the year!
Also, the district has developed a RETURN TO SCHOOL HANDBOOK that was emailed to all parents/guardians on August 28 by Superintendent Carmen Gumina. We have also linked it in this column as it is an informative resource that will be updated with any new information as the district receives it. All district households should also have received the district’s annual paper Back to School newsletter, too, (via USPS mail) that should help with any questions you may have.
We are grateful to begin a new year together! Welcome back!
Be sure to read this monthly column from your board of education shared in school newsletters throughout the year. We look forward to serving nearly 8,400 students, families, faculty, and staff once again this year!
We can't wait to get our students back!! See you in a few days!!
Be well,
Schroeder Principal
