Challenge to SLCHS Community (Students, Parents, Faculty, & Staff)
Reading helps you stay ahead! “Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body.” ― Joseph Addison
How to Participate:
- Set your own reading goal and make sure it's attainable.
- Sign up HERE.
- Want to attend the Celebration Party when school starts? Meet your goal.
- Check-in dates: June 26, July 17, and July 31st through email & Instagram. You will be asked to complete a form or a small challenge. Each activity you complete will give you another entry into our prize drawing.
What kind of small challenge?
It will be something fun & simple such as telling me your favorite line in the book. You can submit it by posting on Instagram & tagging @slchs_library OR submitting on a form sent through email. You earn an entry for the prize drawing every time you participate.
Prize Drawing
Multiple prizes will be given, and every form or small challenge you complete will earn you an entry into the drawing. Signing up gives you an entry as well as completing your challenge. We are working on prizes right now. So far, we have:
- Free printing in the library for the 1st semester
- 2 $25 Amazon gift cards
“As always, one of her books was next to her.” ― Markus Zusak, The Book Thief
We are ready to read and hope you are, too!
Ready to Read 2020
“If you don’t like to read, you haven’t found the right book.” ― J.K Rowling
“When I look back, I am so impressed again with the life-giving power of literature. If I were a young person today, trying to gain a sense of myself in the world, I would do that again by reading, just as I did when I was young.” ― Maya Angelou
