Education 2220 - Instructional Psychology

Students will be introduced to psychological principles underlying educational practice with emphasis on application for instruction and assessment. Learner-centered instruction and diversity will also be discussed.

Education 1102 - Fall ONLY!

Educational Assessment - An introduction to the classroom focusing on diversity in learning styles, assessment and evaluation. Student will spend a minimum of 30 clock hours in a field experience setting.

Education 1150 - Spring/Summer ONLY!

Technology Integration in K-12 Schools - An introduction to integrating instructional technology into K-12 schools. Emphasis is on current and emerging theories of learning with instructional technology and how to best integrate, utilize, and adapt technology as a resource in teaching and learning. A variety of technology will be incorporated, and practical application of technology in traditional and e-learning environments will be addressed.
That's right! Beginning in Fall 2016, College of DuPage will offer a Paraprofessional Certificate program. The best part is that classes that students took prior to Fall 2016 will be retroactively applied to the certificate. All students who are interested in pursuing a degree in Education should consider this certificate to build their skill set. For more information, click here.

Kappa Delta Pi

College of DuPage installed a chapter of Kappa Delta Pi (KDP) on April 26, 2016. KDP is the International Honors Society in Education and is open to students at College of DuPage who satisfy the following criteria:

  1. Completed 30 semester hours of college
  2. 3.0 GPA
  3. 12 hours in Education (completed, in progress, or programmed)
  4. $45 initiation fee
