Buckhead Church - Toddlers & Twos

Where did May go??

Hello Moms and Dads,

Do y'all feel that the month just flew by? Wow. One thing is certain, we've been very busy in our class. That little crowd NEVER stops! They are always ready for more ;).

I want to apologize for not being consistent with our Newsletters. Many times i get stuck in my perfectionism and end up not getting anything done! Can any of you relate?

We've been working hard to finish our school year well (Thursday, 26th) and have a great Summer kick off on Monday, Jun 6th.

Past Friday we had a great Curriculum Meeting with teachers of all campuses and we can't wait for the Summer Program start! Lots of fun activities. Ms. Ginger Pigg, our multicampus curriculum coordinator did an amazing job putting everything together for us! We really can't wait!

A few recaps...

These past two weeks, our kids enjoyed working with patterns. It seems such an easy activity but it's something new and challenging for their brains, especially when it comes to follow pattern sequence with colors! They will be able to master that next school year ;).

The kids really enjoyed two new games that explore their fine motor skills: Fishing Game and a time sensed puzzle called Perfection (I think).

We reviewed numbers, shapes and colors. We targeted the older kids obviously and they did a very good job. Shapes and colors are easy for them. Numbers is more a matter of repetition until they turn 3 and start understanding more quantity.

Since most our kids have turned two, we have been very consistent preparing them for the structure they will have the next school year. Most of them are doing great understanding transitions, following our school' rules (will share with y'all this Summer) and understanding consequences for their choices ;).

Last week, they simply had a blast learning about bees. We even had a super fun Bee parade thanks to our wonderful crafty teachers Ms. Alicia and Ms. Ashley!

This Week...

- We will work finalizing some end of the year projects and will learn about frogs! We will also review our Nursery Rhymes.

- Tomorrow we will celebrate Addison Belle 2nd Birthday with yummy homemade Rice Krispies.

- Unfortunately, Ms. Lisa is sick. So Ms. Molly Williamson will work with me. Kidney Stones are painful. Please pray for Ms. Lisa.

- Thursday will be our END OF THE YEAR PARTY. We will play at the water fountain (weather permitting) and have a picnic. I will send y'all more details this week! We also are preparing some surprises for the kids and you guys ;).
