PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Kia ora Whānau
Spring has sprung around the school. We are now in Level 3 and school started back today for those students whose parents are working. It was lovely seeing some smiling faces and hearing the sounds of the students who have returned.
The daffodils are up and the magnolia trees are flowering.
The school grounds look amazing.
Hopefully, we have some good news and return to level 2 soon.

What the students have been up to in Lock-down!
Kaleb's art work I drew this pic about two days ago when I was bored, it has a lot of cartoon-based stuff in like pokemon and avengers and among us and power rangers and ben ten and a crane the among us characters were trying to put a sub in a pool but the legendary pokemon Kyogre was in there! So they made a giant master ball and were going to capture it. But my secret lair was right there but I put a vault door and a handprint scanner there! I was trying to make a supervillain that controls nature and will have the infinity gauntlet by Kaleb McGrory. | Isla-Jane's artwork Daffodil day art project on Friday. My creation is made out of a chopstick, ribbon, fizzy wrapper, pins, lemon tree leaves, orange tape and scented paint. | Molly's adventure One cold damp morning my friend and I had the best idea to do for the day that idea was going to get us really muddy. We had the idea to go sledding not sledding in the snow sledding in the mud. The highlight for Mum . . . not having to do the washing! |

The Para Olympics Some great information on Sophie Pascoe by Madison T | What Rylee H has been up to at home I have made two things during the lockdown. A puppet horse and a horse jump for me and Dakota, to practice our jumping. I choose to include horse things during lockdown since I am a horsey girl. I worked 3 hours outside building the jump and included it in my William Pike passion project. The horse puppet was a fun and easy thing to make and I enjoyed a challenge at times. It did get confusing at times but I figured it out. Mum helped me with the jump and Dakota did too. Those are the fun things I did in lockdown. | What Room 5 have been up to Room 5 has set up a page on Padlet to which they can add all their work, lots of links and uploads of learning. |

Speech Competition
We will be holding our Annual School Speech Competition on the 24th of September at 1 pm in the school hall. In-class speeches will take place before the school speech competition and the top 4 from each class (room 4 to room 6) will go through to the finals on the 24th. The year 1 to 3 students will do poetry recitals. If we return back to level 2 this will take place but there may be limited attendance. Make sure you are practising your speeches at home.
The Rotary Speech Competition is on the 27th in the evening at Waipukurau School.
