St. Jerome School Weekly Reminders

Reminders for the Week:

*Our Spirit Wear Store through Sixsmith is now open here; orders are due by tomorrow, November 15th in order to have the items ready for Christmas. The St. Jerome maroon zip-up sweatshirts, which may be worn during the school day as part of the uniform, are available along with other SJS school and CYO wear.
*Forty Hours Devotion began this morning at St. Jerome Church. Exposition until Evening Devotions at 7:00 PM. Exposition Monday and Tuesday following the 8:00 AM Mass until Evening Devotions at 7:00 PM. Come spend time with the Lord! Our classes will be making a visit to the Blessed Sacrament with their homeroom teachers during the day as well.
*St. Jerome Church and School have been selected by Archbishop Perez to pilot The Culture Project as they bring their ministry to Philadelphia. The Culture Project works with 7th-12th graders and specifically seeks to teach Catholic values and offer reinforcement to the material taught in the 7th and 8th grade religion curriculum, especially with respect to morality. We will be sending home information to the 7th and 8th grade families in advance of their presentations through Remind, and 7th & 8th grade parents are invited to a meeting to learn more about The Culture Project this Wednesday, November 17th, at 6:30 PM in the Church.
*St. Jerome School is collecting new, unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots. Donations may be brought to school through December 10th.
*This Friday, Ali Holden from MCA will give a presentation to our 4th-8th grade students and show them how to make Rosaries. The students will then have the opportunity to make Rosaries that they may either keep or donate to the missions.

Student Health Reminders
If your child tests positive for COVID-19 or is a close contact to a person who tests positive for COVID-19, please contact us. We will seek advisement from the Philadelphia Department of Health and give you direction.
Our reopening plan calls on every member of the school community to support our values of mutual respect, integrity, willingness to sacrifice for the common good and foster community bonds across generations. Commitment to the policies will assist in protecting the health and welfare of all members of our school community.
In an effort to keep all children safe, we ask that Parents monitor their children’s Health daily. Below are the expectations related to the health monitoring.
I attest to :
Fever of 100.4 or above,
chills,
Cough,
Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing,
Fatigue,
Muscle or body aches,
Headache,
New loss of taste or smell,
Sore throat,
Congestion or runny nose,
Nausea or vomiting,
Diarrhea,
My child has not had any contact with anyone with COVID
I am following all CDC recommended guidelines and limiting my/my child’s exposure to risks such as above
If any of these symptoms present, please keep your child from school and contact the school. If the symptoms are serious please seek immediate medical attention.
We will keep you informed if the list of symptoms, listed above, changes in any way.
