Here's what we are working on...
Reading - We will be comparing and contrasting different versions of Cinderella.
Math - Next week, we will be learning about line plots. We will also be using line plots and and measurement at our Super Dad Super Bowl Party! It will be fun!
Writing - Next week. we will be finishing up our Trophy writing pieces. After that, we will begin another opinion writing piece.
Science - We learned about shadows, gravity, seasons, and the universe today during our rotations. Next week, we review our unit with a Jeopardy game, and the students will give their group presentations.
Grammar - We will learn about plural noun endings, such as es, ies, and ves.
Spelling/Word Study - We will test on Friday, February 5th, over the word pattern ar/are/air (work on Jan. 25-29) and er/eer/ear (work on Feb. 1-5). These are the anchor words part, care, hair, her, deer, hear.
The sight words tested will be call, who, oil, now, find, use, there, an, each, which .

***Super Dads Super Bowl Breakfast - Please RSVP to your child's teacher, if you have not already, regarding the Super Dad Super Bowl Party. We are inviting all dads to come have a little football and measurement fun from 7:15 to 7:45 am in your child's classroom on Feb. 5th. Lots of father/child fun will be had and you don't want to miss it!
***Mark your calendars for February 12 Movie Night 5:30 – 9:00
Parents don’t miss the chance to have a Friday night to celebrate Valentine’s Day early with a relaxing dinner out while your child has fun watching “Hotel Transylvania 2” under the supervision of our wonderful PMES teachers. This event is sponsored by PMES Relay for Life. Students will have fun and receive pizza and a drink all for only $15 per student. ($10 for each additional siblings.) The form is posted on the PMES website and is due by Monday, Feb. 8.
***Recess: Please be aware that county policy states that we cannot go out to recess if the temperature is below 40 degrees. However, if it is above 40 degrees, we will go out to recess. Please make sure that your child is dressed appropriately for colder weather.
*** The Six Flags Reading Log - If your child reads for six hours before Feb. 12, then they can get a free ticket to Six Flags!! Please be sure to have minutes and hours added up before your child turns in their log.
Please remember to send in library books on your child's class library day. The class library days are:
