Classical Conversations
Broken Arrow, OK Trinity Lutheran Campus
For Week 16
We missed all of you that were out sick! We are praying for a quick recovery.
We are up to 420 maps so far. Keep up the good work. I see great improvements in the map drawing and tracing. We raised $69 yesterday. So far we have raised a total of $221. We might have one more the last six weeks of school. Any remaining funds can go towards our year end celebration during week 25th. If you would like to help our year end celebration let me know. Mrs. Robinson has offered her house again.
We are going to have a fun and exciting day next Tuesday!
This coming week is National School Choice Week. There will be several meetings in the Tulsa area for people who are interested in Homeschool and Classical Conversations to attend. I have received a box of promo materials for this week. During opening ceremonies I would like to have a group picture with us holding signs and a special surprise for each of our children enrolled in CC. I will also have some extras for our guests.
You might want to talk to your children about our Open House so they so they are not surprised. The visitors will be participating in class as much as they would like. Some will just observe but others will want to participate. I will have enough art and science supplies or our guests.
For art this week we will be painting so make sure to bring a smock or old shirt for your children. We will be learning about Michelangelo.
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." John 14:27

Community Announcements:
Recess Time
If you see one of our wee ones walking out the main doors to go outside without a parent with them please stop them and bring them back inside! Thank you for looking out for them.
It is best to leave all Footballs in the car until it is time for outside play. The boys are tempted to throw the football around in the fellowship hall. There are just too many little ones to throw balls around.
Mom's Night Out
We will meet at from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at my house. Feel free to bring your favorite appetizer or dessert.
Thursday, Jan 28, 2016, 07:00 PM

RSVPs are enabled for this event.
Open Houses and Informational Meetings
Our first Open House is Tuesday, January 26 from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm.
We will have an Information Meeting from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. I highly encourage visitors to stay for the Information Meeting so they can understand the "why" behind what they observe that morning. If they just attend the Open House and do not go to an Information Meeting then they may not understand the philosophy of Classical Education and Classical Conversations. So if you invite friends and family to attend an Open House please stay with them for the Informational Meeting. They are more likely to stay if you do! Also let them know they can bring lunch and eat with us that day.
Children are welcome at the Open House! I will have enough art and science supplies ready. If you have friends that are planning to attend the Open House please let me know how many children to prepare for. I don't want to run out of Art Supplies for them.
Additional Meetings in January:
Information Meeting - Saturday, January 30th from 9:00 am to 11:00 am Panera Bread off 145th and Aspen.
Thank you in advance for your RSVP.

Week 15 Recap
Art was a lot of fun today with Fra Angelico. I absolutely love learning about these great artists. If you would like to try what we did at home here is a link to a site that gives some good instructions. You can find a picture of CC connected or google a picture of madonna and child if you don't want to draw it yourself.

Science:
The kids had a lot of fun making fossils today. You can buy plaster of paris at a craft store or on Amazon.
Here is a video on how to make fossil molds at home. You can use playdough instead of clay. Also, remember Plaster of Paris can't go down the drain.
