Music Department Update

Important request for all music student parents

Central Lakes Conference Music Festival

Friday, March 27 is the annual CLC Music Festival. This is a day that our most advanced music ensembles perform for bands and choirs from the other conference schools. It is a wonderful day of sharing music, learning about performing and evaluating our own performance when the day is done. We also celebrate the top musicians from all schools in the conference by forming an All-Conference Honor Band, Choir, and Orchestra. The day is one that holds value and offers students the opportunity to work as a community of musicians to learn and grow.

This year, St. Cloud Technical High School is the host of the event; however, it will be held at Sauk Rapids-Rice High School due to facility challenges in the St. Cloud school district. For this day (Friday, March 27), Mr. Luke Lutterman has asked us to staff adult volunteers to supervise critical areas of our school during the festival. We simply need a couple of people at door 6 to direct schools to the homeroom area, a couple of people in the hallway between the main gym, PAC and music area, and we need a couple of people at the middle school to assist with the orchestra performance schedule going on at the CAC.

We need a total number of 6 volunteers positions over the course of 8 hours. To accomplish this, we would like to offer three shifts of 2 1/2 hours each. We will begin at 8:30-11:00 am; 11:00 am-1:30 pm; and 1:30-4:00 pm. If you can help we ask that you complete the link below to access an online spreadsheet. Fill in your name during the time you can volunteer.

Thanks for the continued support that so many of you offer the music department at Sauk Rapids-Rice High School. We look forward to a successful event on Friday, March 27 and thank you for helping us make it a positive experience for the conference music students.

Volunteers must have a background check

All parent volunteers are required by ISD 47 policy to have a background check when volunteering around our students. This is a precaution that our district enforces for the safety of all students. If you are going to volunteer at the CLC Music Festival, please submit a background check by visiting the link below. There is a $14 fee to do so and the background check will be valid for 3 years in the district.
