Symptoms

  • Body Aches
  • Swollen Lymph Nodes
  • Headache
  • Fever
  • Fatigue

Causes

  • Come into contact with cat feces containing the parasite
  • Eat or drink contaminated food or water
  • Use contaminated knives, cutting boards or other utensils
  • Eat unwashed fruit or vegetables
  • Receive an infected organ transplant or transfused blood

Treatment

  • People who are ill can be treated with a combination of drugs

  • Primsol
  • Zithromax
  • Cleocin
  • Bactrim

Death

About 750 people have died from toxoplasmosis
