Units of Study
Science: We are in the midst of a unit about Earth's land forms and water features. This week, students will be doing some research and creating an in-class project about famous land forms and water features.
Social Studies: We are in the beginning stages of the Revolutionary War! Students have spent time recently building background about what life was like for Native Americans, slaves, middle class, and elite folks living in our state during this time in history. This week we will focus on the main causes of the war before moving on to the major battles and heroes!

Important Reminders!!
- Message from our guidance counselors: A VERY Special THANK YOU to all of the families who participated in our annual SCES angel tree gift giving this year! We were able to serve over 100 children in families within our school. You made it possible for many children to have wonderful holiday gifts!
- Our One School, One Book kickoff is tomorrow morning!! We are SUPER excited about this wonderful family event and can't wait for the kiddos to see this year's book!! I will be sending out a follow-up email from Mrs. Bridges tomorrow with more info!
- It looks like the 70 degree temps we have been enjoying are finally gone! What a strange winter we have had so far! Please remind your child to bring a coat, hat, gloves, etc. to school for recess each day. We do go outside as long as the temps are above 32 degrees. Third grade is fortunate enough to have an afternoon recess this year, but it still gets pretty chilly at times.
January Birthdays!
Jan. 10 - Romeer
Jan. 18 - Kade
Jan. 23 - Brooklyn
It sure would be nice if our class had....
