Hello Bears of Bryan Middle School!
Last week students in math class demonstrated their math knowledge by completing the NSCAS mathematics test! After the month-long Math MAP Accelerator March Madness, students were ready to dig in and demonstrate their growth. We appreciated their focus! This week students will be completing the NSCAS English Language Arts test. Wish your students good luck and encourage them to do their best.
Here are some highlights from last week:
- Congrats to all of our students that competed in the Metro Science and Engineering Fair! A big CONGRATS to Katherine who earned 1st place in chemistry: reaction category and exemplary Chemistry project by the American Chemical society; David who earned second place in Physics - Optics category; Carlos who earned first place in Physics - optics category
- A huge shoutout to the Think Tank team Andrea, Gabby, Valeria, Alexa, Deisy, Myrka, Rylie, and Gabby. The Bears worked hard as team to solve high level thinking problems. The team was led by the two Presidents, Andrea and Gabby M. and did a fantastic job!
- Way to go to the BMS Student council who raised over $100 to donate to help children that are being impacted by the war in Ukraine.

¡Hola, Osos de Bryan Middle!
¡La semana pasada, los estudiantes en la clase de matemáticas demostraron su conocimiento matemático al completar el examen de matemáticas NSCAS! Después de la locura de marzo del Acelerador MAP de Matemáticas de un mes, los estudiantes estaban listos para profundizar y demostrar su crecimiento. ¡Apreciamos su enfoque! Esta semana, los estudiantes completarán la prueba de Artes del Lenguaje Inglés de NSCAS. Deséele buena suerte a sus alumnos y anímelos a dar lo mejor de sí.
Estos son algunos aspectos destacados de la semana pasada:
- ¡Felicitaciones a todos nuestros estudiantes que compitieron en la Feria de Ciencias e Ingeniería de Metro! Muchas FELICITACIONES a Katherine que obtuvo el 1er lugar en química: categoría de reacción y proyecto de Química ejemplar de la American Chemical Society; David quien obtuvo el segundo lugar en la categoría Física - Óptica; Carlos quien obtuvo el primer lugar en Física - categoría óptica
- Un gran saludo al equipo de Think Tank Andrea, Gabby, Valeria, Alexa, Deisy, Myrka, Rylie y Gabby. Los Bears trabajaron duro como equipo para resolver problemas de pensamiento de alto nivel. El equipo estuvo dirigido por los dos presidentes, Andrea y Gabby M. ¡e hicieron un trabajo fantástico!
- Bien por el Consejo Estudiantil de BMS que recaudó más de $ 100 para donar para ayudar a los niños que están siendo afectados por la guerra en Ucrania.

GUIDELINES FOR ATTENDING BMS ATHLETIC EVENTS
- Get out there and cheer on your BEARS!!! If you would like to attend a game or meet this year here is what you need to know!
- Students must sign up online to attend a home meet or game. The link is always on the website.
- Students attending a meet or game CAN ride the late bus home if they already ride a bus to and from school.
- Concessions will be made available through Student Council!
- Students need to report immediately to the cafeteria after school! From there students will be checked in and then escorted to the contest together.
- Admission is $1.00 for students and $3.00 for adults. Students with an Activity Card are free!
- Students are expected to be responsible, respectful, and safe as a spectator at all times!
- Students will sit in a supervised student section and must remain seated throughout!
- Be sure to tell your parents if need to stay after school. You must stay for the entire contest! You will not be allowed to leave campus and come back.
- ¡Sal y anima a tus OSOS! Si desea asistir a un juego o reunirse este año, ¡esto es lo que necesita saber!
