iReady Testing
Students in grades 9-12 will take the online, computer adaptive i-Ready assessment in their English course:
Fall Window: Aug. 29-Sept. 23
Winter Window: Jan. 2-20
Spring Window: May 8-Jun. 2
The assessment requires students to read passages and answer questions, lasting about 45-60 minutes. Students may complete the assessment in two sessions, if needed; however, the assessment should not last longer than 75 minutes (total). The assessment data is used by English teachers to differentiate instruction and identify literacy needs. Students must bring a fully-charged LCPS device on test day. Headphones are highly encouraged.
Parents will receive a score report with their student’s reading achievement scores several weeks after the test window, in ParentVUE under the Documents tab. Questions about the i-Ready or Reading Inventory Assessment can be directed to your student’s English teacher.
Map Testing
LCPS administers NWEA’s MAP Growth tests in Math each fall, winter, and spring to high school students enrolled in Algebra I and Geometry to determine their instructional readiness level and measure academic growth throughout the school year and from year to year. The fall MAP Growth testing schedule is August 29- September 16. Students should bring fully charged LCPS-issued devices and headphones on test day.
MAP Growth tests are adaptive, providing a detailed picture of what your student knows and is ready to learn—whether it is on, above, or below grade level expectations. MAP Growth tests also provide immediate and accurate information about your student’s learning, enabling teachers to personalize instruction to meet students’ needs. For more information about the MAP Growth test, visit: https://www.lcps.org/Page/217792

SENIOR PORTRAITS
These are the top 5 things you need to know.
1. Senior portraits are taken by Legacy Studios. If you did not have your portrait taken this past June, dates are now available for fall sessions Sept. 6, 7, 8 & 9. These are by appointment only. You can book appointments NOW using this link.
2. Seniors get their yearbook portraits taken free of charge. The official dress for senior yearbook portraits is tux fronts and drapes. These are provided by the photographer.
3. Any extra sitting fees are due the day photos are taken. Purchases may be made when you receive proofs. Legacy handles all sitting fees and portrait purchases. Again, senior yearbook portraits are taken free of charge.
4. The yearbook staff encourages students to use the free option for senior photos. This keeps the backgrounds consistent and drapes and tux fronts uniform. Photos from other photographers need to follow the guidelines for photos taken here and be submitted by a specific deadline. Contact Mrs. Adwers for details if you choose this option.
5. Questions? Contact Mrs. Adwers. She’ll be happy to help.
