Week at a Glance
Marian Central Catholic High School Faculty Newsletter
July 16, 2018
Welcome to the middle of summer... and full-on heat! We hope that each of you has been finding places to enjoy the heat (if that's what you love) or to cool down (if heat's not quite your thing)! Either way... we hope that your summer has been a wonderful break thus far! Back at school, we have been very busy reorganizing, cleaning, reassessing, and refocusing in order to set up for an exciting new school year here at Marian!
Over the summer, we have been working to address personnel changes... some of which we anticipated, and some we did not. We do truly believe that God gives us what we need and what we can handle... so when you come back to the school, please help us to welcome the following individuals...
Miss Brittany Hull - Biology
Mr. Alan Green - Geometry/Algebra
Ms. Amanda Link - Chemistry
Mr. Andrew McKay - Music
Mr. William OHerron - Algebra
Mr. James Stamatakos - College Counselor
Father Jared Twenty - Spirtual Director
We are also adding one new International Student from Vietnam transferring in from St. Pius X in Lincoln, NE. Her name is Tram Nguyen and she is entering as a sophomore. If you have this young lady in any of your classes, we are confident that you will be welcoming her as you have our previous international students.
If you are one of the several teachers whose teaching certificate expired this summer and have not yet submitted your updated certificate to Ms. Novy, please do so by the beginning of the school year to remain current.
Looking ahead...
We are certain that you have many burning questions at the start of this new school year, so we have laid out some simple FAQs, hoping to answer many of them...
1) When can we come work on our rooms?
The Maintenance Department has been working hard to ensure that our school is in the best working order possible, attending to any requests for service, stripping and refinishing floors, and painting rooms, to name a few! That being said, at this point we anticipate that faculty will be able to come in to work in your rooms as early as August 1st. This should give you about 2 weeks to set up your rooms the way you desire and be completely ready for the new school year.
2) When will my new HP Elitebook be ready for pick up?
Although we may not have the training line up for you at this time, faculty are able to come pick up your new devices the week of July 23. Julie will be available on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday between 8 am and 1 pm. Once we set up the training for you, we will give you more information about that as well.
3) When will the teacher portal be open on Rediker?
You may access your class lists, etc. starting Monday, July 30.
4) Are there any schedule changes?
Click here for the most up to date Master Schedule. There are no major changes to the schedule since the end of the school year that people were not otherwise notified of. Any questions, please contact Ms. Novy.
5) What about other important info? Here is the most up to date Calendar and Floor Plans for your convenience.
6) I am a club moderator/coach and want to start scheduling my members/team mass. How do I arrange for that?
We are so happy to have Father Twenty join our Marian family! If you need to arrange a team mass or have any other spiritual need, please contact him through his email, jtwenty@marian.com. Father has already been jumping in with both feet getting to know our staffulty as well as getting to know the ins and outs of Marian.
7) What's the Inservice schedule for August 13 & 14? The specifics of the Agenda are still in the final planning stages. AS soon as we have it laid out, we will be sending you the agenda!
Have a great week, and maybe we will run into some of you next week!
