What is a concussion?
A concussion is a serious hit to the head that can hurt your brain and alter the way your brain functions.
Causes of a concussion
Helmet to helmet tackles in football. getting checked against the boards in hockey.skate boarding or biking wipe out. collision between skier or snowboarders.
Signs and Symptoms
you feel dizzy after bumping your head.
Things look blurry.
you throw up or feel like throwing up.
you feel confused sleep grouchy, sad or emotional for no reason.
Long-Term Effects
people with mild had injury most no residual effects.
people with moderate head injuries do less well.
people with moderate head injuries 25-305 have good long term out comes 17% have moderate to severe.
