#sparkinfo. Weekly Update
Week #10- October 22nd-26th, 2018
Positive Behavior Incentives
To date, we have exchanged over 700 excel cents! If the model is being followed, this reflects a great number of students doing excellent things! We have sent out 516 Good News messages using the Student HQ! I know this is beyond those of you sending home a card or note, or making a positive phone call! This gives us an average of over 10 a day for the year so far!
Thank you to everyone who has committed to these efforts. It is easy to see how much more of an impact that positive reinforcement has on student habits than negative.
Tomorrow, we will have our first major #sparkcelebration. Please refer to Friday's email for the schedule and locations. Sadly, we have a large number of students who are unable to attend in sixth, seventh, and eighth grade. It takes time to change culture, and our hope is that missing #sparkcelebration tomorrow will help encourage future efforts, and we will begin to see the number of students missing drop over time.
For those of you working with students in the classroom tomorrow, Thank You! Please let us know student locations so that the office staff can find students if necessary. The expectation is that students missing the celebration are further along toward mastery than they were before tomorrow afternoon.
It is hard to believe we are already a 1/4 of the way through the year! Thank you for keeping it positive! Additionally, we will soon be having recognitions for #sparksfinest!, attendance recognition, and honor roll.

Spark Spotlight!!
This week we would like to highlight several of our wonderful related arts staff!
This year, we are fortunate to have a related arts program where students can take the classes they have expressed an interest in! All of our related teachers are wonderful, but I wanted to take a minute and highlight a couple who are going above and beyond! This week we spotlight Mrs. Hernandez and Mrs. Riddle!
Melissa Hernandez has transformed visual arts on our campus!
Beyond incredible art, Mrs. Hernandez has taken on our yearbook! I can't wait to see what it looks.
Most importantly, her class not only challenges our regular education students but is highly adaptive for our students with challenges. We appreciate all you do!
Keep an "Eye Out"!
Melissa Riddle is paving the way for greater 21st century learning!
Beyond the regular day, Melissa is dedicated to our two VEX teaams! These robotics teams are hosting their first ever tournament next month thanks to Melissa's initiative! We can't wait to see where they go. Thank you for going above and beyond!
