Structure of The Executive Branch
things about the president By Seth Cain and
vice president of the united states
The only duty the U.S. Constitution assigns the Vice President is to act as presiding officer of the Senate. But the Vice President also serves as ceremonial assistant to the President and is an important part of the President's administration.
Members of the Presidential Cabinet
The presidents main advisors of the president are his cabinet anytime the president wants make a big decision he speaks with the corresponding advisor. They also watch over they're correlating committee in congress and give them advice from time to time. The presidential cabinet consists of Secretary of State, Secretary of Treasury, Secretary of Defense, Attorney General, Secretary of the Interior, Secretary of Agriculture, Secretary of Commerce, Secretary of Labor, Secretary of Health and Human Services, Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Secretary of Transportation, Secretary of Energy, Secretary of Education, Secretary of Veteran Affairs, Secretary of Homeland Defense. Another one of the presidents advisors is the Office of Management and Budget. Because the president has to write the entire budget for the next year he has to have help in doing it. Being the president means top notch treatment and security. Roosevelt realized someone had to manage all of them and that he definitely didn't want to be tasked with a job like that so he created the Chief of Staff position. When the president goes somewhere there are two things you can count one those are the secret service wont be far behind and neither will the press. This is a very stressful thing to deal with because if the president doesn't speak to them on a regular basis they will just assume and spread rumors which can sometimes cause panic among the people so we also have a person for that the Press secretary sets up conferences and tells the president when they think he should speak and what he should talk about.
