Math

Mrs. Close's Class ~ We are just about finished with Module 4. On Tuesday, I'll present the final lesson of the unit. Wednesday will be a unit review day, followed by the assessment on Thursday. In Friday Folders you'll find the corrected Topic B quiz, many exit tickets, and corrected homework assignments. We did not have time this week to reflect on the January CML competition. We'll do that in the coming week. Keep those exit ticket corrections coming.

ELA

Picture Book Friday - Caitlynn did a marvelous job entertaining us today! Henry is on for Next Friday.

Small Groups - The group reading Freckle Juice has finished and moved on to Double Fudge! The kids reading about Sheila Tubman and the city of Ember are just a fraction of the way through their novels. During small group instruction we work daily of main idea and making inferences.

Read Aloud - We will definitely finish Ruby Holler next week. I'm sad it's going to be over.

Social Studies - The kids have a new book to read called The Scoop on Clothes, Homes, and Daily Life in Colonial America. They are about to get a taste of what daily life was like!

PAWS - Just a reminder that PAWS assignments are due on Friday. Kids will have to take their assignment home and work on it for 10-15 minutes a night. There is some class time, but generally not enough to complete the assignment. The next PAWS is due Friday, January 20th. Kids have the new assignment just in case they want to get a jump start....short week next week!

Just for Girls....

Check out the pink Pajama Jam flyer! Girls have the opportunity to enjoy a fun night of hair styling, nail painting, and dancing! Send me the permission form and $10 if your child is interested.

Headphones

Many kids have been complaining about the headphones that the school provides. Your child is welcome to bring in his/her own set of earbuds. Please don't send in expensive earbuds/headphones.

Instruments

Day 3 falls on a Wednesday again! As a result, kids only need to bring their instruments on Wednesday.
