Grade 7 & 8 Power School- Students' grades

Please be aware that we are currently experiencing technological difficulties as our IT department switches the entire district over to the web-based version of PowerSchool. As a result, only the current cumulative grade can be seen for each student’s core classes. Please be assured that our IT department is aware of this and is working hard to ensure that all the assignments and grades will be able to be seen shortly. Thank you for your patience and understanding as our district strives to make the information accessible on a multitude of electronic devices.

Grade 8 Religion Retreat at Birch Bay Ranch

Grade 8 Religion Retreat at Birch Bay Ranch (Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016)- Please ensure that all forms and money have been handed in to the homeroom teachers. Also, it is vital that the students are WARMLY DRESSED (gloves, toques, jackets, sweaters, running shoes) as they will be outside all morning, rain or shine. It is also important that the students bring snacks and a lunch if they have not ordered the hot lunch. Hot Lunch will be delivered at Birch Bay to those who have ordered it.

Outdoor Education

This Friday, students will be leaving at noon to go to the Strathcona Wilderness Centre for Orienteering II: Compass Skills. Please ensure that your child is dressed appropriately for the weather as we will be outdoors.

Thank you,

Mme Streadwick

French Immersion Fosters Excellent Students… Excellent Communicators

Students with two languages can focus more on meaning and pick out the most relevant points from information provided. They are better able to communicate their thoughts and express themselves and can answer open-ended questions more easily than those with only one language.

Bilingual people are also more sensitive to communication and are better able to understand and respond to the needs of others. Their exposure to another culture makes them respectful of differences, and allows them to communicate effectively with people of diverse backgrounds.
