Tone(the general character or attitude of a place, Piece of writing, situation or such)- In this story, The lottery, the tone is excited at first but then worried by the end because Tessie gets hit.
Protagonist (the central character is trying to accomplish or overcome an adversity and has the ability to adapt tones circumstances)- The Hutchinson Family.
The Dinner party by Mona gardner
Main idea (main point of a speech or piece of writing)- A colonial official and his wife are hosting a dinner party and there is a cobra in the room.
Verbal irony(when person says one thing but means the opposite)
- When the man's first impulse is to jump back but he remains calm.
The sniper
Archetype (an archetype is a typical character, an action or a situation that seems to represent such universal patterns of human nature)- There is a war going on.
Antagonist (An antagonist is is a character or a group of characters who stand in opposition to the protagonist or the main character)
- the enemies of the sniper that are his rivals at war.
Suspense (the quality of a literary work that makes the reader uncertain or tense about the outcome of events)
- When the man(sniper) is about to see who he has killed but has no idea if he knows him or not.
Charles
Dialogue- the character(which I believe is Lauries mom) is having a conversation with Laurie.
Idiom-The title is Charles and the story was unexpected after seeing the name.
Atmosphere- The atmosphere is sort of tense because of Charles and his bad reputation.Static character-Charles

Repetition- the man goes into the room of the guy with the with eye of a vulture every night at twelve.
