Breakfast Service
Due to a decision made by the district to comply with federal government meal guidelines, this year we will not be able to deliver breakfast to classrooms before school. As a result, the following changes will be made starting the first day of school:
Breakfast will only be served from 7:40 am to 7:55 am in the cafeteria.
At 7:55 am, Nutrition Services will stop serving breakfast and no more students will be admitted to the building for breakfast.
Students will have until 8:10 am to finish their meal in the cafeteria. They will then be released to their classrooms. K-2 will walk through the building to their classrooms. 3-8 will exit the front entrance and walk to their grade level entrance.
Educational Programming
BECS will be offering full-time in person learning for all students this year. In the event a cohort or individual is quarantined, remote learning will be provided. Students who are well enough, are expected to engage in their education during the quarantine period. More details regarding this process will be shared in the near future.
Fees
Student Fees will be added to Infinite Campus accounts in the next couple of weeks. We will communicate through the Parent Newsletter once this is complete. Fees will be due at that time and can be paid online through our webstore (payment instructions) or at the front office. Please do not hesitate to contact Ms. Samantha French, Finance Manager, with any questions regarding your students' account.
Immunizations
Please see the important information linked below regarding immunization compliance. The process to exempt students has changed (an online module must be completed, once complete you will receive a certificate of completion that needs to be provided to the BECS Health office.) For questions, please contact Mrs. Vanessa Romero, BECS Health Aide.
Meet & Greet Nights
Elementary (Aug 10th, 4 pm last names A-L, 5 pm last names M-Z) - this is an opportunity for students/families to meet their teachers, drop off school supplies and enjoy an ice cream treat before their first day of school. We ask that classroom visits are brief (under 15 minutes) to support our efforts to maintain health and safety measures. To lessen the congestion in classrooms and hallways we suggest following your assigned time 4 pm last names A-L and 5 pm last names M-Z. Should you wish to meet with your student's teacher individually please contact them directly to set up an appointment.
Middle School (Aug 19th, 4:30 pm last names A-L, 5:30 last names M-Z) - this is an opportunity for families to meet their student’s teachers, students to reconnect with peers, and all to enjoy an ice cream treat. This is an outdoor event located on the south side (around the big pavilion) for families and students to easily meet all teachers while maintaining health and safety measures. A tent for each grade level, electives and athletics will be set up where teachers and some general information will be available. Ice cream will be located at the pavilion. We can’t wait to see you!
We look forward to having parents in the building during Parent/Teacher Conferences in the fall.

Class Lists/Schedules
We know that students and families are anxious to learn who their teachers are and/or which classes they will have. As there is always moving over the summer with families moving away and others enrolling, class lists and schedules are currently being finalized. They will be shared out by Monday, August 9th. Please know that a lot of effort goes into creating class lists and schedules based on student needs, balancing class sizes, teacher recommendations, and space availability. Also, as stated in our student/parent handbook, we do not accept teacher requests. We appreciate your patience as we complete this process and look forward to sharing this information as soon as it is available.
Dress Code/Uniform
BECS is a uniform school, and students need to abide by the guidelines.
Tops: Hunter Green, Navy Blue, White, or Black with a school patch or school embroidered logo permanently attached on the top left side.
Bottoms: Khaki, Navy Blue, or Black
YES, BLACK IS A NEW COLOR ADDED!
Please refer to the Student Handbook on attire specifics that are allowed to be worn at school.

Middle School Bell Schedule & Green/Gold Days
“Orientation” Days
Orientation Days are the first day of school, and attendance is expected. Normal school hours and uniforms are required. Students will attend for a full day, and breakfast/lunch will be available. During this time, students will become reacquainted with school norms and procedures, connect with their teacher and peers, and get excited about the learning to come throughout the year. Our three-day rolling start provides a great opportunity for everyone to ease back into the school year.
Sports
Students who wish to participate in sports, please be sure to have your physical up to date before school begins. The intent is to kick the year off with boys soccer and girls volleyball. More information will follow as Athletic directors meet to create schedules and specific sport guidelines.
