District Survey - Input on Plans for Next Year

As we plan for the new school year in light of COVID19, we would like your input. While there remain many unknowns at the moment with what may or may not be possible when school resumes in the fall, the one thing we can be certain of is that school will look different from what we left in March.

Currently, our district is developing a number of contingency plans in anticipation of changing directives from the Sate, County Public Health and the County Office of Education. We expect these plans to change and be updated over the next few weeks and months as the health and safety issues continue to evolve. In order to help inform our planning over summer, please complete this short survey by May 22nd. Your thoughts are valued and important to us.

Report Cards

End of Year Report Cards will be emailed this year to families the first week in June. Last week I gave an update on how students will be graded. As we moved to at-home learning in late March, Trimester 2 will officially serve as the last reporting period of how students measured towards meeting standards. At the end of Trimester 2, students were assessed and progress was shared on report cards and during student conferences. Thus, the Trimester 3 column on report cards will be grayed out. There will be no mark in the Trimester 3 column as this indicates the point at which at-home learning began.

For Trimester Three Reporting, comments will be used to recognize student participation during at-home learning. All students will be promoted to the next grade level.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to your child's teacher or me.

5th Grade Promotion

The 5th-grade teachers and I are putting together a promotional video for the 5th-grade students and families. The link will be shared with all of you on June 3rd so that you may view it together with your family. You may also have the link as a keepsake. We understand that there may be a sense of loss this year. The video will include special elements such as student memories, speeches and awards. We hope to create, as best as we can, an experience similar to a live, in-person promotion.

Kelli Martines is putting together a program for fifth grade families, and we will print out promotion certificates. During pick up of belongings, we will distribute these materials as well. More to come on the pick up of belongings.
