# GEOMETRY APPLIES!!!!!!!

## Perpendicular Lines

Perpendicular lines intersect and form four right angles.

Perpendicular lines are found everywhere- even on road signs!

## Intersecting Lines

Intersecting lines intersect and form 2 acute angles and 2 obtuse angles.

Even power lines intersect!

## Triangles

Triangles have 3 sides.

Their sides ALWAYS add up to 180 degrees.

There are five types of triangles.

## Acute Triangles

All angles in this triangle are less than 90 degrees.

## Obtuse/ Scalene Triangle

Obtuse triangles have one obtuse angle and two acute angles.

## Right Triangle

Right triangles have one right angle and two acute angles

## Icosceles Triangle

An isosceles triangle has two congruent sides and two congruent angles.

## Equilateral Triangle

An equilateral triangle has ALL congruent sides and angles. All sides are 60 degrees.

## Qudrilaterals

Quadrilaterals have 4 sides and 4 angles.

## Rectangles

Rectangles have 4 right angles.

Its opposite sides are parallel.

Its opposite sides are also congruent.

## Parallelogram

Parallelograms have two pairs of parallel sides.

Their opposite sides are congruent.

## Trapezoid

Trapezoids have exactly one pair of parallel sides.

## Rhombus

Rhombuses have 4 congruent sides.

## Square

The square has all equal sides.

It can be a rhombus, parallelogram, or a rectangle.

A square is also a regular polygon.

## Angles

There are five types of angles.

## The Acute Angle

Acute angles are less than 90 degrees.

They can be found everywhere!

## The Obtuse Angle

Obtuse angles are more than 90 degrees.

## The Right Angle

Right angles are EXACTLY 90 DEGREES.

## The Straight Angle

Straight angles are EXACTLY 180 DEGREES.

They are basically just a straight line.

They are also found in real life, too.

## The Reflex Angle

The reflex angle measures more than 180 degrees.

## Reflex Angles in Real Life

They also can be found in real life.
