New Office Hours

There are new office hours for elementary schools in Red Oak ISD. The office will be open from 7:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. The front doors will open at 7:15. If you need to drop your child off before 7:15, you will need to drop them off in the car line. There will be a staff member there to help your children into the building beginning at 6:50 a.m. every morning. Student hours will not change. The school day will remain 7:45 a.m. to 3:10 p.m. All students must be picked up by 3:45 p.m.

New Arrival Procedures

We are excited about the upcoming year. We want to help make the start of every day a success. During the first week of school, all parents and guardians are welcome to walk their children into the building and to their child's classroom. Beginning the second week of school, we ask that the students walk themselves to their classrooms.

Students arriving by car should be dropped off in the back of the building. Staff will be available to assist students as they exit cars and enter the building. Please do not stop in front of the building to drop off students. You must drop off at the back of the building. Students may not walk in the front doors by themselves. Parents wishing to walk students into the building will need to park in the front and will be allowed to walk the students into the foyer, but students will walk to the cafeteria and their classrooms by themselves. If your child needs extra assistance, we will have several staff members available. The tardy bell will ring at 7:45. Students arriving after 7:45 will need to be escorted into the building and signed in as tardy. Parents will need to park in the front of the building.

We thank you for helping foster independence in your child!

Dismissal Procedures Reminders

Dismissal is an extremely important part of our day. We want to ensure the safest and most efficient process to end each day at ROE. Your child's teacher will ask you to share your child's normal dismissal plan during Meet the Teacher. We know that sometimes plans may change. The best way to make transportation changes is to communicate with your child's teacher in writing. However, if an emergency arises the office can make contact with your child's teacher during the day to inform of last minute changes. In case of an emergency contact the ROE Office at 972-617-3523 before 2:30 pm.

Neighborhood Walkers

Red Oak Elementary staffers will walk these students to one of three designated neighborhood drop-offs. Students who walk will be accompanied to the drop-off spot nearest to their home. This option is only for students living in the surrounding neighborhoods. All other students should be a bus rider, daycare rider or car rider.

Neighborhood A – Valley Ridge and Autumn Trail

Neighborhood B - Valley Ridge and Shadow Bend

Neighborhood C – Red Oak Road and Foxwood Lane

Parent Pick Up

As always, each car will need to a car tag placed on the dashboard. Please be sure to stay in your car while in this line. You may enter the car line from either Red Oak Road or Valley Ridge. Your child's homeroom teacher will distribute car tags during Meet the Teacher Night. If you do not have a car tag, please visit the front office. The parent pick up line will be a slower process during the month of August. We will increase our efficiency as we move into September.

Bus / Daycare / After the Bell

Students who ride a Red Oak ISD bus or daycare transportation will be dismissed at the front of the building. After the Bell will meet in the gym during dismissal time.

PTA Update

PTA will be selling spirit shirts for $15, which will include the PTA membership. Plan to visit our PTA volunteers at Meet the Teacher Night on August 17.

Note from the Nurse

If your child needs medication during the school day, please read over our district's medication policy here: https://goo.gl/5sAnVT

Parents will need to have an action plan and a medication administration form completed by their student's doctor before medications may be left at school. Please email me at katharine.usrey@redoakisd.org if you need this paperwork sent to you.

ROISD Volunteer Program

We invite all parents to come to the school and volunteer in a variety of ways. Please don’t forget that every adult must fill out a background check.
