Why is Physical Education Important?
Some benefits of daily physical activity include:
- increased body awareness and movement skills
- improved concentration in other classes
- helps maintain a healthy weight
- boosts students moods
- combats health conditions and diseases
- boosts energy
Which activities will be done in class?
Jumping
- long jump
- high jump
- triple jump
Throwing
- javelin
- shot put
- discus
Running
- sprint
- distance
- relay and hurdles
Getting Active at Home
1) Hallway bowling - Fill up water bottles and use any ball you have to knock them down.
2) Sock Skating – If you have hard floors, put on socks and skate around. See if you can do spins or hockey stops, or who can slide the farthest. Make sure to move the furniture and watch for splinters.
Remember you can always take advantage of playgrounds in your neighbourhood, too!
