April 3, 2020
Hello Woodin Families,
I hope this note finds you well. This has been a busy week adjusting to the changes made to remote learning, and Woodin staff is hoping that the transition has been as smooth as can be expected. We have all really enjoyed re-connecting with your little Wildcats!
As you know next week is our scheduled Spring Break, and we will resume online learning on Monday, April 13th. We are wishing you a restful and pleasant break. Hopefully the sun will make an appearance so you can enjoy some outside time. Please remember to keep busy reading, playing games, taking family walks, and engaging in the activities that bring you joy.
If you are looking for more to do during this time, you can continue doing iReady math and reading lessons (40-60 minutes per week), reading on Raz Kids, or check out activities on the Woodin Learns or NSD Learns Sites. Here are the links:
Please reach out to your child’s teacher if you need support accessing the NSD Free Lunch program, Woodin food bank services, internet hotspot or a computer, childcare, or need help with any of the learning websites listed above.
We are excited to start back up our distant learning after Spring Break!
Fondly,
Dawn & Megan
EL Support in the Virtual Learning Environment
The English Language (EL) Team is here for you and your students during virtual learning and want to provide information for how our support can look in this different environment. Below I list the ways EL support looked before online learning (or in the regular classroom) and then included ways EL support can look virtually. Please don't hesitate to contact me or other EL staff members directly with questions or to set up a time to meet (our contact information is below)! You can also check out our page on the Woodin Distant Learning Website for updates and for our EL staff contact information.
*If your student is not an EL student, you can disregard the following information.*
Thank you for your time and again, please let us know if there is anything we can do to support you and your family during this time!
