E-Learning Clarification

e-Learning Document

Please click the document above concerning e-Learning. Hopefully this will help answer questions you may have. Feel free to share this in your newsletters or with parents who may have questions.

College Go Week

Next week will be College Go week. You will be able to wear jeans next week, if you would like. Monday please wear a shirt from your college/university or one where a child went to school. Tuesday the staff will wear Central Noble shirts/colors, Wednesday your students are encouraged to wear colors for your school or a school they like. Thursday will be hat day, and Friday the students can dress for a job they would like to have in the future.

House Keeping Items

Schedule Committee

If you are the lucky grade level appointee I would like to meet Tuesday morning to start initial conversation and work on a possible new schedule after Christmas break. We will start at 7:45 am in my office.

Struggling Students

As we get closer to the end of the grading period and halfway through the year, please make sure you are communicating often and frequently with parents of our struggling students. Please make several weekly attempts to contact parents about grades, struggles, behaviors....etc whether it is through phone, notes, emails.....etc. It's easier to work with parents when we can prove we are constantly communicating with them. Don't forget to communicate things they do well too. It's nice as a parent to hear good things your student is doing too.

Jaq Steinman Day

On December 14th we will be celebrating Jaq Steinman day! For those of you who don't know (we have permission to share) Jaq is currently in remission from her cancer!!!!!!!!!!!! She has been through more than any 2nd grader should have had to have gone through and I feel it's important we celebrate her. We are still working on details, but the day will include taking her to lunch, presenting her with a "key" to the school (Mr.Gaff), and a school board member giving her a declaration of Jaq Steinman day at CNP. We have kicked around several ideas of a dance party, magician....etc.....If you have a cool idea for things to do please let us know! This is a surprise by the way so mum is the word. We do have a list of her favorite things if you'd like to get your class in on the action!

Title One/Reading Levels

I just want to take a minute to recognize EVERYONE and the hard work you are all putting in. The preliminary results are coming back and we have students that are taking off in reading! I think it's a testament to the hard work in the classroom, and the support from our Title One ladies! It takes a team to continue to grow, we can't do it alone! We have kids that have grown 5+ levels already! WOOHOO!!!!!!!!! Keep pushing and working together it IS MAKING A DIFFERENCE!

Friday Read Aloud's!

Starting this Friday Officer Koontz and I will be popping into rooms to read a short picture book to your students. We will try to make this an every Friday tradition and may add other readers. I feel it is important for kids to have books read to them, but also important for them to know that men (manly men) also read. Many of our students have never heard a male read out loud to them and I'd like to start doing this. When we come in we'll take over for 5 minutes or so and hopefully give you time to get a drink, use the restroom, or just relax for a couple minutes while we read! If you know of any guys that would be willing to come read on Fridays let me know and we'll get them a copy of the books we are going to read!

Upcoming Meetings:

Monday @ 7:45: We will discuss the e-Learning policy, and discuss this round of unannounced evals.

Monday @ 9:00: I.A. staff meeting. This will start happening more often we will spend about 15 minutes catching you up on info that you need to know or answering questions. This is an attempt to help communicate better what is going on and what is expected. All I.A.'s must attend title, ed, and special ed!
