Computers
6th Grade
Up, up and away. Students are working on drones for the next 4 weeks. This week we are building our remotes, next week we will see if the drones will fly.
Innovators and Makers
Inputs and outputs...lots of noise in this class this week, learning how to code buzzers and LED lights. Next week we will work on our Safe and Safeties alarm systems.
App Creators
Completed our first game app, ask your student to show your their skills. Next week we will "Build a Body". We will create and app that allows us to drop and drag sprites on the tablets, should be a great week.

Foreign Language
6th grade foreign language have started learning French. They are learning greeting vocabulary and will be performing skits in French.
Technology (Robtoics, STEM and Design and Modeling)
Robotics is working on mechanical gears and all of the different mechanisms that they can use on future projects. On 9/11 students should have completed the simple gear train, simple gear train with idler, bevel gear assembly and worm and wheel. Students also had to complete a notebook check over the following mechanical gears. After the four gears above were complete students then worked on the following: lead screw, rack and pinion and universal joint.
STEM worked on measurements and created an air skimmer. By precise measurements students can create a skimmer that can fly down the hallway. Ask your student about the puzzle cube they will be creating in class.
Math Strategies
Multimedia
6th Multimedia - We have been coding using scratch.mit.edu. Students are finishing up their Animation Project in Scratch Today (Friday, Sept 13th). Next week they will start their Game Project using Scratch to create a Catching Game.
7th & 8th Multimedia - We have been learning about the Elements of Photography, Copyright/Creative Commons, and photo editing using PowerPoint. They are currently working on a project where they are Creating a Meme using pictures they have taken and using all of the skills we have been learning about to complete this project. They will complete this project next week.
Please make sure your student will have their own earbuds/headphones available to use daily in my class.
