Gene Pike Middle School library will celebrate Teen Read Week™ (October 15-19, 2012) with special events and programs aimed at encouraging our students to read for the fun of it.

Book Trailer Contest, It Came from the Book

It Came from the Book contest is a student book trailer contest. All students are invited to participate in this awesome contest.

Contest Rules:

  1. Only one book trailer per student.
  2. Students may choose from a variety of programs such as Movie Maker, Animoto, One True Media, or iMovie to make their book trailer.
  3. All entries must be emailed to Mrs. Fitzgerald (sfitzgerald@nisdtx.org) no later than 4:30 p.m. on October 19.
  4. Please include your name and Gene Pike Middle School in all book trailers.
  5. Include a proper citation page at the end of your trailer.
  6. Book trailers will be judged on originality, creativity, and accuracy.
  7. Prizes will be awarded (gift cards) to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners on Oct. 31st.

1st Place - $25.00 Barnes and Noble gift card

2nd Place - $20.00 iTunes gift card

3rd Place - $10.00 iTunes gift card

Faculty Book Club to discuss Matched by Allie Condie

The first faculty book club will meet on October 19th, 8:00 a.m. in the GPMS library to discuss Matched by Allie Condie. All faculty members are invited to participate.
